Over the Edge, 2011
In 2011 Simon Woolham worked with printmaking workshop Hole Editions to produce two lithographic print editions, At the Edge and Over the Edge. According to Woolham, the 'edge' the title refers to could be 'the edge of a cliff, a suicide maybe, it could just be the edge of the stone or paper too.'
After creating his first print At the Edge, Woolham went on to introduce text creating his second work Over the Edge. He says 'I knew that after I produced the first print I wanted to introduce some text, the taglines in my work evoke both innocent reminiscences as well as suggesting darker reportage. I wanted the text in Over The Edge to look like it had been cut out or fallen from the page, disrupted by the drawn marks.'
